The state of the state
Nov. 13th, 2020 09:13 amWarnock and Ossoff have a great chance of winning their runoffs because Southern democrats are nothing if not last-minute excellers. We like to marinate in the project, whatever it is, as long as possible and then push it through.
In light of that, I think the general election was the marinade and now we're on the grill, flipping and turning and getting grill marks in opposing directions, checking the temp, moving it off and back on the heat.
I'm ready for lunch.
My greater concern, though, is that 45 is setting up a two-president situation, which will not work any kind of way. I don't think he even wants to be POTUS anymore, I think he just wants to stay unincarcerated.
I had thought that Biden might toss him a pardon as a conciliatory gesture, but I just read that won't happen. I'm glad. If there's going to be civil unrest over this, it needs to happen already, rather than hang over our heads for the next four-eight years. To be clear, I don't want an insurgence, I'm just not going to be surprised if there is one.
